GRAND-GUIGNOL

 Historical novel and horror novel ( slasher and giallo ) on the history of horror and its place in the history of culture, through the fictitious misadventures of the real historical troupe of the Grand Guignol, confronted with the kind of human monsters that usually populate their plays. Published by Les Presses Littéraires, under the title Sang de bœuf, from 2019 to 2025. The revised version called Grand-Guignol is to be published on 16 October 2026 by Anacharsis.  

Back cover: Paris, February 1922. In Montmartre, the Grand-Guignol Theatre's troupe stages nightly performances combining excess with exuberance. Horror plunges feverish audiences into depths of agony, infecting them with the icy, addictive thrill of terror. But on the day when the theater’s stage manager secretly goes to buy blood from the butchers in La Villette's slaughterhouses, the situation takes a dark turn. Slowly at first, then in an increasingly rapid staccato—murder after murder—the troupe find themselves plunged, in grim reality and without special effects, into one of the very plays they usually perform on stage.
